Dialogue. The Lowy Institute is an
independent, nonpartisan
international policy think-tank that
provides highquality research and
distinctiveperspectives on the
international trends shaping
Australia and theworld

Lynwas asked to speakon
infrastructure challenges andnew
approaches. PNG is prone to
natural disasterswhichoften
cause loss of infrastructure,
isolating communities. Inparticular
Lyn spoke about theneed for
development of infrastructure in
PNG that proactively considers
natural disasters including the
impacts of climate change.

conclusion and the leaderswere
joinedby ForeignMinister Julie
Bishop, who spokeonbuilding
stronger links between the two
countries across business, civil
society and academia.
As a result of the Lowy Institute’s

theAustralianHighCommission in
PNG to a ‘round table’ with the
HighCommissioner. A key topic
discussedwas thebuildingof
stronger ties betweenAustralian
andPapuaNewGuinean
businesses.
